Newly painted caravan cupboards with doors removed
doors and oven removed to create painted shelving

If you saw the “before” photos of our little Abi Ace Globetrotter in the previous post, I hope you’ll agree that a few coats of paint have improved the interior a lot! The teal colour was left over from a decorating project in the house, and I mixed the sunny yellow from a couple of tins I had in the shed.

We removed the doors from the cupboards to create open shelving, and the old gas oven has gone, although we kept the 1980s fridge as a standby, as it still works perfectly. (Appliances were built to last in those days!)

As I mentioned before, the bed /seating bases couldn’t be removed, and we need to retain access to the lift-up tops to continue working on the leak in one corner. To get round this, I bought inexpensive tabletops from IKEA, together with small tables to rest them on at the right height. All of this is easy to remove and can be reused in any future workspace.

I’m now in the process of moving things in and organizing the space. Look out for part 3 with the “after” photos soon!
