Tilly’s stripy top and short linen pants are perfect for summer but she needs something warmer to wear in spring! I’ve used her basic top pattern to make a sweater in a warm towelling fabric, lengthened her trousers to keep her ankles warm, and stitched her a pretty new headscarf in a floral print.

To lengthen the trousers, simply add the extra length at the lower hem when you pin the template to the fabric, or if you prefer you can make a new paper template by drawing round the original and adding the extra length.

I used a soft, stretch towelling from an outgrown baby garment for Tilly’s top. A lightweight fleece would work well too.

You can use the garment templates included in my doll patterns with lots of different colours, prints and textures of fabric to create new looks for different seasons. I like to reuse fabric from old clothes wherever I can, and I get ideas for new outfits using whatever is available.

Tilly’s pattern includes her top, trousers, headscarf and shoes. You can find it here.

This is brilliant! Perfect adaptions also for Puffin the cat and Toby the dog. I love it!
